Don't Trip is a prolific artist and party machine. His first solo exhibition will be held August 23rd, 2014 at VISUAL in San Diego, California.
Although the artist paints his iconic characters in various illegal "spots", this collection of work will focus mainly on canvas and mixed media works. The exhibition will consist of his classic bright orange characters and floating heads, sporting stoner smiles and peace signs. The title "No Worries" suggests the artists extreme positive mental attitude that he promotes and lives by on a daily basis. No worries is a mantra that symbolizes pure positivity, enthusiasm for life and celebrates the art of Don' Trip. New paintings by San Diego artist Eric Wixon.
Eric's new work celebrates the pursuit of happiness. Using loose continual line drawings filled in with his classic pastel color palette, Eric creates whimsical, light-hearted characters sporting goofy facial expressions. These combinations of images are fused together to recreate new environments that seem to be from an alien planet and a different reality all together.
June 7, 2014, Illustrator, Nick McPherson will exhibit his creepy and quirky vintage family photographs which he has hand embellished with pen and ink. This combination of hand drawing and vintage photography creates a bizarre and humorous scenerio where creatures encroach upon and transform the old fashioned black and white photo's, presenting the viewer with a twisted utopia.
El Luchuk is an artist who lives and works in Tijuana, Mexico. His illustrations depict mutated figures morphing into half creature and half human. El Luchuk's drawings and zines are layered with humor and romance, his misfit, troll like characters have a playful demeanor with slightly sinister undertones. These characters seem to be up to no good but in an adorable sort of way.
