The VISUAL Public Art Project was founded by Jason Gould, owner and operator of VISUAL urban contemporary art.
The project is designed to engage the community with contemporary art and act as an alternative venue for artists. Using neglected public space, artists transform each neighborhood into a colorful gallery of public art. The project has worked with North Park Main Street, City Heights Business Association, Normal Heights Business Association, College Area, El Cajon Blvd Business Improvement District, SDGE and the North Park Branch Library. The public art project has also curated events such as the Live Art Expo, Outside the Box group exhibition at Union Co Work and has been featured in publications including San Diego City Beat, Uptown News and Where Magazine.
